About David and ministry
David began doing full-time Counselling and Prayer Ministry in August of 1999 (he has done this form of ministry part-time since 1987). David lives and works in Southwest Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and his office is about 10 minutes from the 401. David has his counselling office in his home, which is accessed by a private and separate side entrance (directions to his office are on the first page of this website). Sessions are usually 1 or 2 hours (50 or 100 minutes) in length. Other longer sessions or "intensives" can be arranged with appropriate notice.
David does do face-to-face "intensives" for those coming from afar. Hotel or B&B arrangements can be suggested (speak to David directly about these). Intensives of one to two days are usual with 3 - 6 hours available per day (more than 2-day intensives are possible upon request and availability). These face-to-face services are presently NOT available due to COVID limitations. Extended sessions CAN be arranged via Zoom or phone meetings.
David also ministers and counsels remotely with persons via encrypted, confidential web conferencing or phone. Arrangements are made in advance for pre-payment by Bank email transfer. Payment confirmation of payment may be needed prior to phone or Zoom sessions. Cancellation/rescheduling is handled as per the introductory letter download available on the main page of this site.
Consultations and training/mentoring is also available for professionals, pastors and ministry leaders and lay leaders. These are done via web conferencing or phone.
David has trained and ministered locally in the Waterloo Region, as well as the greater Southwestern area, and in the Ottawa area and Edmonton, AB. In May 2011, David was able to travel with Alf Davis to Bulgaria, at the request of Blagovest Belev (founder of Bulgarian Christian TV http://www.cross.tv/74235), and place Alf's video training series for Christian Counselling; http://www.lovehealstv.com/theory_processvideos.shtml into Bulgarian (via interpretation) for online training of pastors and leaders. David plans to return to Eastern Europe and Greece to minister soon.
David has a unique background of being both a previously ordained minister (see details in the downloadable introductory letter, on 1st page of this website) who has been active in church ministry and church (and national cell-church movement) planting and cell group leading (with his wife) since 1986. David also has a Clinical Masters in Social Work (MSW) and is a trained therapist with a wide variety of mental health care and social work experience since 1987 when he graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Insurance companies and EAP organizations have contracted with David to provide services to their Christian and other clients. David receives Christian Pastoral counselling referrals from local churches and ministries. Mostly, referrals come through word-of-mouth.
David's strongest desire is to see both emotional and spiritual maturity develop in individuals and families within the body of Christ. He often recommends the book "The Life Model - Living from the Heart Jesus Gave You" by Friesen, Wilder et al. - to those who come to him to receive ministry.
